Volcano erupts in Indonesia sending thousands running from their homes. Thousands of Indonesians in Northern Sumatra have been forced out of their homes by a volcano that, until Sunday, had been dormant for more than 400 years. Mount Sinabung began rumbling last week, ‘causing concern that turned to panic when it erupted, spewing ash into the sky. On Monday an even bigger eruption has triggered a red alert – the highest possible for volcanic activity.
